About Mengyue Jia

Dr. Jia is a harpsichordist and educator specializing in early music performance. She holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance, and completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in Historical Performance Practices at Claremont Graduate University. She is well versed in Baroque and Classical keyboard repertoire. Dr. Jia has performed internationally and has been invited to adjudicate piano competitions, present public lectures on early music, and teach masterclasses. She collaborates with early music ensembles and classical vocalists in the Bay Area, performing continuo and concerto repertoire on the harpsichord in a variety of chamber music settings, including projects associated with the Berkeley Festival (BFX). Her all-Bach album is available on major streaming platforms. Dr. Jia is committed to expanding access to early music through performance, education, and community engagement, seeking to introduce broader audiences to the expressive beauty and historical context of early music.
